Carillon Lights Up The Night In Celebration of National Assisted Living Week
Asheboro Mayor David Smith will be the featured speaker at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro on September 13 for Light Up The Night – a special evening of celebration in honor of National Assisted Living Week.
The event will draw awareness to the important role assisted living plays in enriching the lives of seniors, their families and communities. The evening’s festivities, to include live music and refreshments, will culminate with the lighting of luminaries meant to symbolize the letting go of fears and anxiety related to the aging process. The community is invited to stop by and illuminate their support for seniors by sponsoring and lighting a luminary for $5, with the proceeds benefitting Alzheimer’s care and research.
“For Carillon, National Assisted Living Week is an opportunity to change the tone of the conversation on aging, to focus on the possibilities rather than the limitations and to celebrate the gift of a long life that is well-lived,” said Carillon Assisted Living President and CEO Karen Moriarty. “With assisted living, a senior no longer has to choose between the care they need and the life they desire.”
Light Up The Night will be held at all 15 Carillon Assisted Living communities statewide this Thursday. Asheboro’s event will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the community, located at 2925 Zoo Parkway.
Carillon’s other locations include Cramerton, Durham, Fayetteville, Fuquay-Varina, Knightdale, Harrisburg, Hillsborough, Hendersonville, Monroe/Indian Trail, Lincolnton, Newton, Salisbury, Shelby and Southport.
