Our Alzheimer’s Care Program and Philosophy
Welcome to The Garden Place
Carillon communities are home to The Garden Place, the most highly regarded Alzheimer’s care program in North Carolina today. We created The Garden Place in response to the tremendous need for a therapeutic approach to Alzheimer’s care delivered in a safe, secure setting with all the comforts of home.
And The Garden Place is home. For seniors living with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease, home is a place that feels warm and familiar. Home is a place where friendly faces encourage and embrace, and somehow, know just what to do and say to make things right. Most of all, home is a place of total acceptance. Here, there is peace where there was once turmoil. Love instead of fear. The promise of good days still to come.
For families, there is such relief in what The Garden Place is not. It is not a nursing home. It is not an institution. And it is not good-bye. The family often sees a marked improvement in a loved one’s emotional state as well as the return of some cognitive functions they feared were lost forever.
For Carillon, one of the greatest testaments to our Garden Place program is in watching families reconnect and share meaningful time and experiences with one another again.
Our Program
Carillon designed The Garden Place with painstaking attention to detail. Everything a resident touches in the community – and everything and everyone that touches them – is carefully drawn from the latest research available on Alzheimer’s care. Carillon’s highly trained team members follow a system of best practices that has made the company a leader among senior care providers for over 20 years.
Residents of The Garden Place benefit from:
- A safe, stimulating and supportive environment.
- A secure community where they are free to safely explore interior spaces, patios, fruit and flower gardens.
- A mix of daily activities – cognitive, physical and spiritual – that connect them to the life they knew and the pastimes they enjoyed.
- Assistance with the tasks of daily living, with a focus on maintaining independence and preserving life skills for as long as possible.
- Progressive care that adapts along with their changing needs.
- Respect, compassion and dignity.
